The Living Daylights 30th Anniversary
On this day in Bond history, 30 years ago, the film The Living Daylights premiered at cinemas. The film was first released in the UK on 29th June 1987. The Swedish premiere was on 10th July while the Americans had to wait until 31st July.

Soviet General Georgi Koskov fakes his defection to the West in order he is able to continue his capitalist pursuits and have the British Secret Service eliminate his colleagues who are close to exposing his corruption.

• 29 Jul 1986: Timothy Dalton signed his contract to play James Bond for the first time
• 6 Aug 1986: Timothy Dalton was announced as the fourth actor to play James Bond
