Book review: Raymond Benson's James Bond novel Never Dream of Dying

The last book in the Raymond Benson's Union Trilogy is special in many ways. First, it's a book whose title is entirely Benson's from beginning to end, which has not always been the case. It refers to the mysterious dream world that Bond and others in the book are confronted with in one of many interesting side tracks. Additionally, this is Benson's attempt to write his own On Her Majesty's Secret Service. It's the first time since Tracy's death that James Bond falls in love. Never Dream of Dying is the final chapter in a trilogy that has offered the best opponent in the Bond literature since SPECTRE.

Book review: Raymond Benson's James Bond novel High Time to Kill

The latest in the line of FSWL writers, Mats Hilli from Finland, begins by reviewing the three books in Raymond Benson's Union Trilogy series. First out High Time To Kill, followed by DoubleShot and Never Dream of Dying. "It feels like Benson wrote the book that Fleming didn't before he passed. Fleming himself was an avid mountain climber. That is one reason to give high marks, but above all, Benson has his own Bond-raid voice in High Time To Kill. There is no doubt that Bond is Bond in this book and that with a message."
