2022 is a BIG year for Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson

James Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson of EON Productions have received much love during 2022 which also marks the 60th anniversary of the world's longest film franchise. Below a summary of the awards and honours they have received throughout the year as well as what they have been working with. And a little bit about the future of 007 on the big screen.

31 December 2021:
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli awarded CBEs (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2022 New Year’s Honours list while actor Daniel Craig was awarded a CMG (Companion of the Order of St Michael and St George).

17 January 2022:
No Time To Die producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli receives a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding British Film.

21 January:
Michael G. Wilson celebrated his 80th birthday.

1 February:
Actor Rami Malek, director Cary Joji Fukunaga and producer Barbara Broccoli talks with director Guillermo del Toro about the making of No Time To Die.


8 February:
For the first time in over 40 years, a James Bond film receives a nomination for a Visual Effects Academy Award so it is a tribute to Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, Cary Joji Fukunaga, Mara Bryan and the over 1000 No Time To Die special and visual effects crews who produced such beautiful work. Special Effects supervisors Chris Corbould and Charlie Noble commented, “We applaud the filmmakers for holding out and allowing our work to be showcased as was intended, on the big screen.”

17 March:
No Time To Die wins Best Action Movie at the Critics Choice Super Awards.

25 March:

29 March:
The first performance for the Broadway production of MacBeth starring Daniel Craig and Ruth Negga as Lady Macbeth takes place at the Longacre Theater in New York. The show is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

21 April:
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli announced to be honoured as 2022 Pioneers Of The Year by the Will Rogers Motion Picture Pioneers Foundation in Los Angeles.

18 June:
Barbara Broccoli turns 62.

24 June:
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli visited Buckingham Palace where they were awarded with their Commander of the Order of the British Empire medals.

28 June:
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli were honoured with BFI (British Film Institute) Fellowships at the BFI Chairman’s Dinner held at Claridges Hotel in London. In attendance were Bond alumni Ralph Fiennes and Naomie Harris. >Read more

28 September:
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli attended the Sixty Years of James Bond Live Charity Auction at Christie's in London which raised a grand total of 6,874,494 GBP, five times the pre-sale estimate.

30 September:
Samira Ahmed hosted a 60th Anniversary panel featuring producer Michael G. Wilson and associate producer Gregg Wilson (Michael's youngest son). Other members of the panel included screenwriters Neal Purvis & Robert Wade, casting director Debbie McWilliams, and actor Rory Kinnear.

5 October:
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli attended The Sound of 007 Concert at Royal Albert Hall in London along with other family members.

14 October:
Till, the latest movie produced by Barbara Broccoli, premieres at selected theaters in America.

20 October:
John Richardson's second book, Making Movie Magic: The Photographs, is published by The History Press in the UK with a foreword penned by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

21 November:
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli were recipients of the Great Creative Britons Award at Walpole's British Luxury Awards 2022. Associate producer Gregg Wilson and creative director Heather Callow (Michael and Barbara's niece) accepted the award, which was presented by Quantum of Solace actress Olga Kurylenko and Casino Royale’s Caterina Murino.
