As if the James Bond Community had not suffered enough during 2020, we have now lost another beloved member of the family... We are extremely saddened to report that Tanya Roberts, A View to a Kill’s (1985) leading lady opposite Roger Moore, suddenly has died aged 65.

Tanya's publicist, Mike Pingel, posted the following on her official site on 5th January 2020:

“With a heavy heart I can confirm the death of Tanya Roberts (age 65) last night on January 4, 2021, around 9:30pm PT at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Her 18-year domestic partner, Lance O’Brien, received the phone call from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center last night at their home confirming her passing. Roberts' cause of death was from a urinary tract infection which spread to her kidney, gallbladder, liver and then blood stream.

Today, January 5, 2021 at 10:00am PT, O’Brien picked up Roberts personal possessions from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Roberts was an animal rights activist, so in lieu of flowers, they are asking for donations to be given in Roberts's name to the ASPCA.

An online memorial for Tanya Roberts will be announced shortly. The family ask for privacy as they mourn her death.”

From Sweden With Love founder and managing editor Anders Frejdh comment the sad news:

“We first met in England 2003 and it is fair to say I was immediately struck by her beauty, kindness, and good spirit. Over the last year, I helped her with some work, and we emailed only a few weeks ago. Can’t believe she’s gone. My thoughts and prayers now go to boyfriend Lance and sister Barbara. Rest in peace Tanya, I will never forget you. Love Anders x”

A View to a Kill director John Glen shared a personal comment for our readers:

“Tanya Roberts was a ray of sunshine and I enjoyed directing her on A View To A Kill. We had a lot of fun on the movie with Roger. She was one of the most beautiful Bond stars with striking blue eyes and paired beautifully with Roger. My condolences to her family.”

Tanya Roberts was born in Victoria Leigh Blum and came to the Bond world from the Charlie’s Angels (1980-1981) TV series. She was cast as curvaceous Stacey Sutton, a Northern California geologist and oil heiress who runs afoul of megalomaniac Max Zorin (Christopher Walken) and his plot to destroy Silicon Valley with a killer earthquake. A fine addition to any cast, Tanya Roberts played well beside Roger Moore as the two become inseparable in their mission to take Zorin down.
