Helga Brandt in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE 1967

FSWL contributor Markus Hartmann, president of James Bond Club Schweiz, met up with Karin Dor during at the Stadttheater in Fürth, Germany, in October 2014 where she was on tour with the theatre production of "Der dressierte Mann".

Markus said Ms. Dor was very kind and offered them two tickets to see the play. At the end of it, she met up in the foyer of the theatre for a short personal meeting where the photo above was taken.

Besides her well known part as the unfortunate Helga Brandt in You Only Live Twice (1967), Karin is also recognised for her part as Ribanna in Winnetou: The Red Gentleman, Hitchcock's Topaz and many other movies (Edgar Wallace, Dr. Mabuse, Fu-Manchu).

Markus asked what she think about fans and journalists who always ask the same questions about the Bond film. She said: "I don't mind that since I consider myself very fortunate to have had the chance to become part of such a wonderful franchise [Bond} that is known in the whole world".

A lot of people still approach Ms. Dor to ask for an autograph. As an example, there were about 10 people waiting for her outside the theatre. Two of them were obviously professional autograph hunters as they wanted her to sign 20 photos which was not right, because - once she signed them - she hardly had time to sign any other items for the "real" fans!
