Sylvia Trench in DR NO 1962 and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE 1963
Eunice Gayson is very nice lady and special in my eyes, due to the fact that her character in
Dr. No (1962) and
From Russia with Love (1963) is one of my top three favourites among the Bond women.
So far, I’ve been able to meet her at several Bond events in England; for example at "An evening the Bond women" in London 2002, several times at Pinewood Studios and most recently at the launch of
Bond in Motion in Beaulieu.
Eunice is always charming and friendly towards fans and often tells stories from Bond, especially how her character should be repetitive in the serious but unfortunately didn’t.
One anecdote which is interesting is when she told about how nervous Sean Connery was when filming the casino sequence in
Dr. No (1962) and for the first time revealing the classic line ‘My name is Bond, James Bond’. Director Terence Young told the crew to give Sean a solid drink to loosen up a bit before making that scene.
