One of the Drax Girls in MOONRAKER 1979

I was fortunate to meet the lovely Diane Thierry-Mieg at Club James Bond France's celebration of Moonraker (1979) (1979) at Château Vaux le Vicomte in December 2013. (Read more about the event.)

Our good friend Frank Anderson had a chat with Diane the night before the event (a few of us was invited to a private dinner with the special guests) who explained that, of the Drax girls, she was the only one not given any screen time. (Diane only appears on the official film poster.) She did appear on set for the Drax speech on the space station and was one of the many Drax girls standing around; unfortunately she can't be seen in the final edit of the scene.

She also explained that one of the reasons only Anne Lonnberg had a speaking part (of the Drax' girls) was because most of the girls were chosen because they were experienced French models, not actresses.

About the event itself, Diane left me a comment:

"For the Bond Girls, it was a great day shared with the James Bond fans! I didn't even know there existed "James Bond Clubs" in different countries and I think it is great! Everything was so well organised by Luc Le Clech and his team, and every one was really nice and respectful! Plus, getting to have a delicious lunch and a visit of the castle beautifully decorated for Christmas time was a delight. My thanks to Club James Bond France."
