A review of James Bond Bingo: The High-Stakes 007 Game

James Bond Bingo product review
A few years ago I received the James Bond Scene It game for Christmas, great for a lifelong Bond fan like myself, not so good for the rest of my family who have a ‘take it or leave it’ attitude to the films! Nobody wants to play a game when they know who will win before the box is open – sadly it remains virtually un-played with in the loft!

Happy to write that James Bond Bingo avoids this problem by taking a game everyone loves and knows and giving it just enough ‘Bond’ to make it playable for everyone. Well-made and beautifully packaged, the box contains a fold out calling mat and cards with Bond bingo boards and tokens to cover once the name has been called.

My wife had fun making up ‘bingo calls’ for some of the characters on the cards, “is that Paddington? (Ben Whishaw)” etc. It was also nice to see some unusual items on the bingo cards like the avalanche jacket from The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Safin’s mask from the latest film No Time To Die. There is also instructions on how to play a faster game, or a special Bond round where players can give clues about the featured characters or objects instead of their names. For example, the villain in The Man with the Golden Gun (1974) would be Scaramanga.

We really enjoyed it and looking forward to playing with friends this Christmas where I'm sure it will turn into a Bond bingo drinking game!
