From Sweden with Love reader Merlijn Kuiper informs about the eighth issue of the full-color 36-page magazine Bondesque - a non-profit, educational magazine about the world of James Bond - published in both Dutch and English.
This issue of
Bondesque Magazine covers the following topics:
• The Number 007 | Author
Alan Porter delves into the history of the code name 007. The latest film
No Time To Die (2021) reveals that this song was not just for James Bond.
• The Dutch Connection | A new regular feature in
Bondesque Magazine. The Netherlands has more in common with James Bond than most will think. We start this item with a look at the Beechcraft Model 18 plane from
Octopussy (1983). How did this piece of film history end up in Dutch ownership?
• Visit
Moonraker set | A special in this edition is an exclusive story by
Klaus Bo Nilsson. The Dane visited the set of the James Bond film
Moonraker in Paris as a schoolboy in 1979. A unique experience with extraordinary encounters!
• College of Arms & 007 |
The College of Arms plays an important role in the story of the
book and film
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969).
Gosse Drent and
Merlijn Kuiper delves into the rich history between James Bond and the institute. From the first contacts with
Ian Fleming to the collaboration with set designer
Syd Cain.
• Interview with
Robbie Maddison |
Pyotr Zajac (the man behind
bondlocations.com) interviews stunt driver Robbie Maddison. He was involved in the motorbike chase in
Skyfall (2012) as
Daniel Craig’s stunt double.
• Fleming’s inspiration | While his first book
Casino Royale (1953) had not yet been published, Fleming had already started writing his second James Bond story,
Live and Let Die (1954). The base of this story is the journey he took from London to Jamaica. Where else did he draw inspiration from, for example for characters?
• Bond On Motorcycles | Since the film
GoldenEye (1995), we have seen James Bond riding a motorcycle with some regularity. The last film even featured a Triumph Scrambler 1200 prominently. Featuring a list of all the bikes: from Ian Fleming’s books to the bikes of the enemy in the films.
Exclusive attachment:
