Major Nordic film studio SF Studios, director Baltasar Kormákur, author Jo Nesbo , and James Bond screenwriters Neal Purvis & Robert Wade (who pens the screenplay for the 25th James Bond film due for release in 2019) teams up for I AM VICTOR, a film based on a new novel from Nesbo that will be published in 2019.

SF Studios has acquired the film rights for international best-selling Norwegian crime writer Jo Nesbo's upcoming novel I am Victor due for release in 2019. The story is an entertaining thriller about Victor – a skilled but morally corrupt and narcissistic divorce settlement lawyer who finds himself framed for a series of brutal murders thus starting his own investigation to find the killer.

Jo Nesbo’s crime novels have earned him countless international awards – most recently the prestigious Riverton Honor Prize - sold more than twenty million copies, and been translated into forty-seven languages.

Award winning Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur (Contraband, Everest, The Oath) is attached to direct and the renowned writing duo Neal Purvis & Robert Wade (The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and SPECTRE) is currently writing the screenplay.

Fredrik Wikström Nicastro (The Snabba Cash Trilogy) has put the project together and will produce for SF Studios together with Baltasar Kormakákur for Icelandic RVK Studios.

Producer Wikstrom Nicastro remarks, “I was completely blown away by Victor - this unique and totally outrageous character that Jo Nesbo has created and I am thrilled to bring him to the screen together with this fantastic team of collaborators.”

In a joint statement, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade said:

'We’re delighted to be working with Baltasar and SF Studios to bring this exciting Jo Nesbo thriller to the screen. Victor is a genuinely unique character and we’re looking forward to spending time with him.”

I AM VICTOR is one of the features included in SF Studio´s strategy to produce English language films in partnership with high level Scandinavian talent for the international market. SF Studios just recently enjoyed great success with its production A Man Called Ove (2015) that was nominated for two Academy Awards and is at present in post-production of Borg/McEnroe (2017) starring Sverrir Gudnasson, Shia LaBeouf and Stellan Skarsgård directed by Janus Metz (Armadillo).

I AM VICTOR marks the first collaboration between SF Studios and RVK Studios. Jo Nesbø and his agent Niclas Salomonsson are executive producers.
