SELMA STAR READS NEW JAMES BOND AUDIOBOOK
British actor, producer, director and writer David Oyelowo is to narrate the audiobook edition of the forthcoming official James Bond novel, Trigger Mortis, by bestselling author Anthony Horowitz. He follows in the footsteps of other actors who have narrated 007 novels, including Kenneth Branagh, Hugh Bonneville, Tom Hiddleston and Rosamund Pike.

Oyelowo is known for roles in theatre, film, radio and television. He was born in Oxford in 1976 and in 2001 he appeared on stage in the title role of Henry VI in the groundbreaking Royal Shakespeare Company production. He played the character, Danny Hunter, in the popular BBC TV drama, Spooks, between 2002 and 2004. He has appeared in films such as The Last King of Scotland, Lincoln, Jack Reacher, The Butler and Selma, for which he received a Golden Globe Best Actor Award nomination for his portrayal of civil rights leader, Martin Luther King, Jr.

Oyelowo said: “I consider it a huge honour to be asked to narrate this wonderful book. Anthony Horowitz has crafted a taut thriller with a fascinating cast of characters and stunning action sequences that I am relishing bringing to life. It is an acting challenge as exciting to me as any I have faced on stage or screen. I get to play James Bond! It doesn't get much better than that.”

Horowitz said: “What an honour to have an actor as talented as David to read my take on James Bond. He has a brilliant voice and talent for bringing out the nuances of dialogue and characters. He will do marvels with the audiobook of Trigger Mortis.”

Trigger Mortis has been commissioned by Ian Fleming Publications and The Ian Fleming Estate, and includes original material by James Bond creator, Ian Fleming. One of the country’s most successful writers, Horowitz has over 40 books to his name, including two official Sherlock Holmes novels, The House of Silk and Moriarty, and his bestselling teen spy series, Alex Rider, which has sold over 19 million copies. As a TV screenwriter he created both Midsomer Murders and the BAFTA-winning Foyle’s War. His play, Dinner with Saddam, opens at the Menier Chocolate Factory in September.
