Following the news of Danny Boyle's departure as director of Bond 25 in August, the James Bond World got some great news today when the Swedish-related True Detective director Cary Joji Fukunaga (his maternal grandfather is Swedish) was presented as new director after the usual speculation by the media (which once again turned out to be wrong).
Michael G. Wilson,
Barbara Broccoli and
Daniel Craig announced today that Bond 25 will begin filming at
Pinewood Studios on 4 March 2019 under the helm of director,
Cary Joji Fukunaga with a worldwide release date on Valentien's Day, 14 February 2020.
“We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure,” said Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli.

The production of James Bond films has always been marked by ups and downs. Today's news shows once again that Bond producing veterans Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are confidently in charge. After Danny Boyle's sudden departure last month, now Bond fans can calm down and look forward to the next film. After nearly 60 years of unparalleled success, Albert R. Broccoli's Eon Productions will endeavour to maintain that the highest number in adventure cinema is still 007.
