Bond 25 production today announced Daniel Craig will be undergoing minor ankle surgery resulting from an injury sustained during filming in Jamaica. Production will continue whilst Craig is rehabilitating for two weeks post-surgery. The film remains on track for the same release date in April 2020.

After Danny Boyle and writing partner John Hodge departed Bond 25 over a script dispute with producers Barbara Broccoli, Michael Wilson and Daniel Craig (rumored to involve “killing” Bond), Fukunaga joined the project and franchise writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade returned to tweak the script. Then a last-minute rewrite from Scott Z. Burns pushed back the start of production as well as its release date from Valentine’s Day to April 8, 2020. Bond 25 will be distributed in the U.S. by United Artists Releasing, a joint venture of MGM and Annapurna Pictures.
