FSWL is – once again – saddened to learn of the passing of another member of the Bond family – lovely Serbian actress, Nadja Regin, aged 87. She was one of the elite few actresses to appear in more than one Bond film – as Kerim Bey’s mistress in From Russia with Love (1963) and as “Bonita” in the pre-credits sequence of Goldfinger (1964).
Other acting roles included episodes of popular series like
The Saint,
The Third Man and
Danger Man. She also starred in smaller British films like
Solo for Sparrow and
Runaway Killer. Regin, a WWII survivor (who lost her father in the war), also had a flair for the literary side of the business and spent the late 1960s working as a script reader for UK film companies like Rank and Hammer.
One of her proudest achievements was finishing a manuscript left behind by her mother and seeing it published as
The Dawning. She also penned a novel,
The Victims and the Fools which took place during WWII, as well as a children’s book. She was a highly talented and creative soul and will be deeply missed by fans around the world.
Our respect and condolences go out to her family.
