FSWL reader Lili Pohlmann - previously married to Austrian actor Eric Pohlmann (1913-1979) who voiced Ernst Stavro Blofeld in From Russia with Love (1963) and Thunderball (1965) and later partner to Peter Janson-Smith (1922-2016) who was Ian Fleming's literary agent - is a remarkable person. To say the least. Her incredible life story written by Anna Blasiak is a must-read for all human beings. The 191-page book was published by Holland House Books on 9th November 2020.
This is the story of Lili Pohlmann's incredible childhood and survival. During the Second World War she was helped by many people, including a German woman working for the Nazi occupying forces in Lemberg, and a Greek Catholic Metropolitan Archbishop. After the war Lili came to London in the first transport of Jewish children from Poland.
James O’Brien of Leading Britain's Conversation has said: “Lili Pohlmann is the most remarkable person I have ever met.”
