In Quantum of Solace, following a long tradition of female sacrificial lambs, Gemma portrayed MI6 agent Strawberry Fields who is sent to La Paz, Bolivia to convince 007 (Daniel Craig) to abandon his mission and return to England. Instead, she falls for Bond’s charms, and, like Jill Masterson in Goldfinger (1964), winds up dead. Instead of being painted gold, her lungs are filled with crude oil.
