AN INTERVIEW WITH MARTINE BESWICKE
For the 50th anniversary of James Bond on the big screen, From Sweden with Love (Anders Frejdh) caught up with Martine Beswicke, the gorgeous Jamaica-born actress who worked on both From Russia with Love (1963) and Thunderball (1965).

About Martine Beswicke:
A former Miss Jamaica, Martine came to London around the same time as Dr. No (1962) was in production and met up with director Terence Young. This lead to her being cast the following year in FSWL as one of the gypsy fighters, Zora, opposite Nadja Regin.

She came back, along with Terence Young, two years later as Paula Caplan in Thunderball, ensuring her an enduring place in Bond fan’s hearts.

Outside of Bond, Martine has appeared in films such as One Million Years BC (1966), Slave Girls (1967) and Hammer’s Dr Jeckyll AND Sister Hyde (1971) (playing Sister Hyde).

TV work includes John Drake (1965), Hart To Hart (1980), The Fall Guy (1982), Fantasy Island (1979-1984), Days of Our Lives (1984) and Santa Barbara (1985).

Contrary to speculation recorded elsewhere, Beswicke never married and was NOT one of the silhouetted dancing girls in the opening credits of Dr. No.
