Stuntwoman in FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, NEVER SAY NEVER AGAIN and 3 of Pierce Brosnan's James Bond films

FSWL contributor Aaron Cattermer met Wendy Leech (along with her husband Vic Armstrong) at the Memorabilia Show in Birmingham in 2012.

Aaron said Vic chatted about his autobiography and Wendy talked about their children following in the family business. "It was a pleasure to meet two icons of the stunt industry."

About Wendy Leech:
Wendy is the daughter of famed stuntman and coordinator George Leech and grew up with the film industry. She later followed in her father’s footsteps starting with stunt doubling work on The Omen in 1976.

One of her next jobs was stunt doubling CP3O in George Lucas' Stars Wars (1977) in some of the most daring sequences. She then doubled Margot Kidder in the second Superman film (where she met her husband who was doubling Superman himself).

Other big budget film stunt work include the first three Indiana Jones films - Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom (1984) and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989) - Richard Lester's Superman III (1981), Blake Edwards' Curse of the Pink Panther (1983), David Lynch's Dune (1984), Ridley Scott's Legend (1985), Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun (1987), Paul Verhoeven's Total Recall (1990) and Entrapment (1999) starring Sean Connery.

Wendy has also worked on five Bond films, and has the distinction of being the only person ever to have killed 007 – in the opening sequence of Never Say Never Again in 1983 (albeit in a training exercise). Her other Bond outings include For Your Eyes Only (1981), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997, doubling Michelle Yeoh), The World Is Not Enough (1999) and Die Another Day (2002). A skilled horsewoman, Wendy continues to ride and train horses.
