Board member of Ian Fleming Publications Ltd and Ian Fleming's niece.
The first time I met Lucy Fleming was in april 2008 during Autographica in Birmingham.
Lucy is the daughter of actress Celia Johnson and writer Peter Fleming, as well as the niece of James Bond author Ian Fleming. Since 1997, Lucy, along with her sister Kate Fleming, have controlled
Ian Fleming Publications (IFP).
Ian Fleming Publications Ltd is Ian Fleming’s family company and owns and administers the literary copyright in his fiction and non-fiction books. The company’s aim is to promote and make available all of Ian Fleming’s books worldwide. Ian Fleming Publications looks after the literary James Bond brand and keeps it alive by the publication of new stories based on the characters Ian created.
In recent years, the company has worked with Charlie Higson, Samantha Weinberg and Sebastian Faulks on Young Bond (2005-2008), the Moneypenny trilogy and Devil May Care (2008) respectively. Ian Fleming Publications is constantly considering new ways to extend the Bond brand, and plans for a new James Bond story written by Jeffery Deaver are well under way.
Besides her involvement with the IFP, Lucy works as an actress. She is best known for her role as "Jenny Richards" in the 1970's BBC drama Survivors, the only character to survive all three series of the show.
Her numerous credits in other British television series include The Avengers (1968), Mr. Bean (1994), the regular role of "Jo" in Cold Warrior (1984), the first "Helen Wycliffe" in Wycliffe and the Cycle of Death (1993), A Dance to the Music of Time (1997), Heartbeat (2004), Rosemary & Thyme (2004) and Kingdom (2008).
