Stuntman in DIE ANOTHER DAY 2002 and
The Queen in the Bond stunt during London 2012 Olympics
I first met Gary Connery while helping a few of the James Bond guests at Autographica in Birmingham in October 2012, just over a week before the Royal premiere of Skyfall (2012) at Royal Albert Hall in London.
Gary is a top man and also a huge Bond fan. It was interesting to hear his story about the stunt doubling for Queen Elisabeth II during the London Olympic opening ceromony.
About Gary Connery:
• To date, has completed over 880 skydives and 450 BASE jumps
• First wingsuit jump over 8 years ago
• Joined the UK Stunt Register in November 1997 and became a stunt co-ordinator in 2003
• “The Beach” starring Leonardo di Caprio doing a waterfall jump
• Doubled Gary Oldman on “Dead Fish” jumping from Tower Bridge into a moving boat
• Falling from a car as it travels over a waterfall in “Indiana Jones”, doubling for John Hurt
• Doubled Rowan Atkinson on
Johnny English Reborn
• BASE jumps of note include The Eiffel Tower, Nelsons Column, The London Eye, inside The Millenium Dome, Beachy Head on a BMX Bike and The Hilton Hotel Park Lane, London
