Midway through production on the latest issue of Empire came the tragic news that legendary actor Sir Sean Connery, the man who brought Bond and so much more to life, had passed away at the age of 90. He left behind a brilliant cinematic legacy, which they’ve celebrated inside the new January 2021 issue – with a series of features delving into the way he made an indelible dent on cinema with the role of 007, exploring the rich variety of his work beyond that British super-spy, revisiting his final Empire interview, and more.
While the regular cover of this month’s mag belongs to
WandaVision (2021),
Empire have decided to offer an alternative run of the issue featuring a special commemorative
Sir Sean Connery cover, capturing his most iconic 007 pose.
The cover with Sir Sean is limited to a print run of 2500 copies and will be available exclusively online at Great Magazines – on sale from Thursday 26 November.
Beyond the cover is the exact same issue as the regular
WandaVision edition – and as well as our Connery celebration, the mag digs into Marvel’s hugely-anticipated Disney+ series, talks filmmaking with
George Clooney, and head into the wild with
Chloé Zhaos Nomadland. Plus, in a major TV special, they have an audience with the inimitable
Michaela Coen, get existential with
Alex Garland, talk to the showrunners behind this year’s most cinematic TV series, and much more.
The regular edition of the issue hits newsstands on Thursday 26 November – but remember, you’ll only find the Sean Connery commemorative cover online at Great Magazines.
