The June 2012 issue of Empire film magazine features articles about James Bond's 50th Anniversary on film and the new film, Bond 23: Skyfall (2012).

Issue highlights:
• Skyfall - Bond is back this October, and we've been down to visit the film's set to bring you all the latest on 007's adventures. Director Sam Mendes gives us a few clues on the top secret production – and our Dan Jolin spies out everything he can on what's in store.

• 50 Years of Bond: GoldenEye (1995) - Legal disputes had left Bond on hiatus for nearly 7 years when Pierce Brosnan took on the mantle and brought 007 back (again) in GoldenEye. Opening with a still-breathtaking swan dive from a monumental dam, it dealt with the end of the Cold War and even a female M. The times, they were a-changin' – and we have an oral history from those who were there.

• 50 Years of Bond: Timothy Dalton - There was a time when people criticised Dalton's gritty take on James Bond. Thankfully, those days of madness have passed, and everyone now appreciates how freakin' awesome he was. Here, Dalton reveals how Benicio del Toro nearly severed his finger, and what happened to his trousers…

• 50 Years of Bond: Live and Let Die - Bond took a new direction when Roger Moore took on the mantle. Here, those involved discuss how he got the role, and a few of the challenges involved once he got it. "Challenge", in this case, is a synonym for "crocodile" or "speedboat crash".

• 50 Years of Bond: On Her Majesty's Secret Service - Generally overlooked on release, George Lazenby's sole Bond outing has had something of a reappraisal over the years, its downbeat ending coming into fashion and Christopher Nolan numbering among its fans. This month we examine why that is.

• 50 Years of Bond: Dr. No - Ian Fleming famously hated it; Cary Grant turned down the role. But Dr No somehow became a triumph despite their reservations, and Ian Freer examines the essential ingredients in the mix of the very first Bond film.
