Daily Record reports that Sir Sean Connery's widow Lady Micheline, his son Stephan and granddaughter Saskia have created a new tartan which will represent the actor's favourite places. The new tartan will be unveiled as the James Bond actor is commemorated at this year's Dressed To Kilt fashion show in Long Island this summer.

Edinburgh born Sir Sean founded the Friends of Scotland charity in 2002 who in turn organised the Dressed To Kilt charity fashion show and he hosted the stylish event with his family several times.

Models and judges at the event in previous years included the likes of Mike Myers, Donald Trump, Andie MacDowall, The Pussycat Dolls, and Dario Franchitti.

This year, the bash which normally takes place during New York Tartan Week in April, has been postponed until the summer and organiser Dr Geoffrey Scott Carroll has revealed exclusively to the Daily Record that a commemorative tartan has been created in conjunction with the Connery family and Dressed To Kilt.

He said: “Many of you are aware that we lost our friend and colleague Sir Sean Connery in 2020. We have therefore decided to celebrate and honour Sir Sean and his family with our next show.”

“Indeed, three generations of Connerys - Lady Connery, his son Stephan, and granddaughter Saskia - have together worked with our team and produced a new Sir Sean Connery Tartan that will be unveiled at this show for the first time anywhere. The colours of the Tartan represent places that meant the most to Sir Sean.”

The actual colours of the bespoke Connery plaid are still a secret, but Dr Geoffrey revealed that his family are hoping to attend the ceremony, which this year will be streamed across the internet.

The show will be held at the prestigious Mill Neck Manor Estate on the Gold Coast of Long Island, about 25 miles from New York.

Dr Geoffrey added: “We will be raising funds for the Navy SEAL Foundation and we will have several decorated Navy SEALS on the catwalk. We are also inviting several members of Sir Sean’s family who attended and supported previous DTK events, and we shall invite a number of his favourite models and favourite acts from previous DTK shows to join us.”
