IMAX® experience awaits SPECTRE in Sweden

SF Bio has announced plans to open the first commercial IMAX theatre in Sweden and Scandinavia during the fall 2015 which means it should be ready when Bond 24 opens at cinemas over here.

During the autumn of 2015, SF Bio will open Scandinavia's first IMAX cinema at Filmstaden Scandinavia which will be located in the Mall of Scandinavia within the Arena area in Solna, just outside the city centre of Stockholm.

Film city Scandinavia will include 15 lounges of which thus will be equipped with IMAX, which is an extremely large canvas with a sound and a visual experience that is something special. IMAX, is an innovation in entertainment and technology with a combination of software, architecture and equipment creates experiences that take biobesöket to a whole new dimension. Around the world there are (as of 1/4 2014) 840 IMAX theaters in 57 countries and is now being built be the first in Sweden.

- We have seen the growth of IMAX in Europe and its popularity and we now believe that the time is right to make IMAX a key part of our commitment to cinema experience, says Jan Bernhardsson, President and CEO of Nordic Cinema Group, which consists of SF Bio in Sweden , SF Kino in Norway, The Cinema in Finland and Forum Cinemas Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. IMAX will be an entirely new attractions at our new flagship Film City of Scandinavia, where the big movies will also have premiered. We look forward to this partnership and will also look at other establishments in Scandinavia.

The major filmmakers such as James Cameron, JJ Abrams and Christopher Nolan, and major movie studios offering films in IMAX format to give the audience an extraordinary experience and today's IMAX cinemas among the most important and successful theaters for major motion pictures worldwide. Movies like "The Avengers," "The Hobbit," "Batman movies" and others are examples of films that attracted large audiences to the cinemas and on an IMAX cinema highlights for an even greater experience.

Filmstaden Scandinavia will consist of:

• 11 salons adapted to a large audience with northern Europe's biggest screens and a big focus on a grand cinema experience. This plant will be one of the largest cinema theaters in Sweden and include the largest projection screen in the Nordics with over 1800 seats. The main auditorium will thus be built as an IMAX theater including about 500 seats.

• A luxurious cinema with four VIP lounges are built in a separate part encompassing an exclusive restaurant and bar with the ability to eat and drink in connection to the movie. This movie theater will have about 160 exclusive armchairs.

The Mall of Scandinavia in Solna is planned to be the largest shopping center with over 100 000 m2 of retail space.
