In a PM from Miss Moneypenny's desk in London, Ian Fleming Publications has presented the new British book covers of Ian Fleming's books for this year's 70th anniversary of Casino Royale, the first James Bond 007 novel written by Fleming. Classification: Gold level (For Your Eyes Only)

The message reads as follows...

“To our agents in the field,

We have some exciting intelligence to share with you today.

Ian Fleming Publications have released the much-anticipated UK cover designs for their definitive paperback editions. Publishing on April 13th 2023, this will be exactly 70 years to the day that Ian Fleming introduced James Bond to the world.

Sometimes in the shadowy world of espionage, discretion is a spy’s best weapon. On other occasions, one must be bold and daring. These covers have nothing to hide (although there are subtle details to look for…) and any agent seen carrying these paperbacks will instantly be recognisable as an ally of 007. We laid the covers out on a table in HQ and discussed our favourites. 007 commented that the Casino Royale design reminded him of the scent and smoke and sweat of a casino at three in the morning.
