FSWL reader Mike Battle, the man behind Red Carpet Rookies film making podcast - a project created to tell the stories of the most accomplished names behind the camera - interviewed Academy Award winner and legendary James Bond production designer Peter Lamont in October 2020. This episode has just been released and it’s quite a special piece of film history.
In the episode,
Peter Lamont discuss his beginnings in the industry, how he first got his job on a James Bond feature, working with
Ken Adam and how he made fun of Peter, designing Fort Knox on
Goldfinger (1964), what
Cubby Broccoli was like and why he was a great Producer, what
Pierce Brosnan and
Roger Moore were like on set, and the story of how he chose the Bahamas for the opening of
Casino Royale (2006) with
Martin Campbell.
(Peter sadly passed away the month after this episode was produced making this conversation his last recorded interview.)
