In the tradition of Hollywood's finest awards presentations, the best stuntwomen and men in the entertainment industry will be recognized for their extraordinary performances in feature films of 2012 at this year's Taurus World Stunt Awards ceremony. Skyfall (2012), with Gary Powell as stunt coordinator, is nominated in four categories.

UPDATE (15/5/2013):
TWO wins for Skyfall at the 12th annual Taurus World Stunt Awards (Best Stunt Coordinator to Gary Powell & Best Work with a Vehicle to Belle Williams, Ben Collins, Lee Morrison, Mark Higgins and Robbie Maddison) Congratulations to all, much deserved!

Before the 2013 Taurus World Stunt Awards , Skyfall won the award for Best Cinematography (to Roger Deakins) from The Los Angeles Film Critics Association, a Golden Globe to Adele for Best Original Song, two BAFTA awards for Outstanding British Film (to Sam Mendes, Michael G. Wilson, Barbara Broccoli, Neal Purvis, Robert Wade, John Logan) & one for Original Music (to Thomas Newman).

The film also won TWO Academy Awards for Best Original Song (to Adele and Paul Epworth) and Best Sound Editing (to Per Hallberg and Karen Baker Landers).

The four 2013 Taurus World Stunt Awards nominations for SKYFALL were:

• BEST HIGH WORK - James Bond is shot and falls off a train, falling to the water below. A decelerator assisted the 100’ fall down. The final fall into water was shot later and enhanced with some CGI (Computer Generated Imagery). WINNER: The Avengers

• BEST WORK WITH A VEHICLE - James Bond pursues someone in a high speed chase through the streets of Istanbul. After his SUV is crashed, the chase continues on motorbikes that race on the rooftops of buildings and eventually land on the top of a train. WINNER: Belle Williams (stunt double for Naomie Harris), Ben Collins (also known as 'The Stig'), Lee Morrison (stunt double for Daniel Craig & Ola Rapace), Mark Higgins and Robbie Maddison for SKYFALL.

• BEST SPECIALTY STUNT - James Bond chases a man across narrow rooftops on motorcycles in a high-speed chase that includes a jump through a glass window. No wires or cables were used for the chase or the jump. WINNER: The Dark Knight Rises

• BEST STUNT COORDINATION AND/OR 2ND UNIT DIRECTION WINNER: Gary Powell for SKYFALL

Editor's note:
Gary Powell also won the Taurus Award for 'Best Stunt Coordination and/or 2nd Unit Direction' in 2007 for his work on Casino Royale (2006). Vic Armstrong was nominated in the same category at the 2003 awards for his work on Die Another Day (2002).
