About Fiona Fullerton: (official biography)
Fiona Fullerton, formerly one of Britain’s most well known and versatile actresses, starring in movies, television and West End theatres, held a high profile media presence for over 20 years. But it is as a Property Columnist, writer and property investment guru that she is now reaching a vastly different audience.
Her rewarding experiences with the property market since 1976 finally led her to invest in the rental market in 1994 and she now has a small portfolio of properties in Central London and Oxford which she has re-designed, lets and manages herself. Her business as a successful landlord led to her weekly column in the Saturday Daily Telegraph, which became a popular highlight of the property section.
Her first book
How to Make Money from Your Property, published by Piatkus Books (Little Brown) went into re-print in hardback and is now available in paperback, and Fiona was then commissioned to write a further two property books.
Fiona Fullerton’s Guide to Buying, Selling and Moving House was released in April 2003 and in June 2004 she released
Fiona Fullerton’s Guide to Buying To Let. She then had, for seven years, a successful column in the Mail on Sunday property section called Ask Fiona, for which she was nominated in The British Press Awards in 2004, and now writes property features for many other publications.
As an actress for over 30 years, Fiona starred in many West End theatre productions, in musicals and plays, most notably as Guinevere in
Camelot, opposite Richard Harris. She starred in several television series including
The Charmer (1987) opposite Nigel Havers,
Angels (1975-1983) and
A Taste for Death (1988). In films she is best known as Alice in
Alice in Wonderland and Pola Ivanova in
A View to a Kill with
Roger Moore. She was also the international face of Max Factor for two years, the face of Ultratone and Mortgages For Business. She was a director of the Savoy Group for 13 years. She has presented
Fiona Fullerton’s Style Guide on Sky TV,
Off the Beaten Track for Anglia TV,
The Property Show for Carlton SW and
Great Country Houses for Meridian TV.
Fiona left the acting profession in 1995 having fulfilled an ambition to play Eliza Dolittle in
Pygmalion. She is married to businessman Neil Shackell. They have two children James and Lucy.
In 2013 Fiona was delighted to be one of the contestants on
BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, partnered by Anton du Beke.
Editor's note:
In 2012, Fiona Fullerton's book
Dear Fiona, the true story of how two people from social extremes forged a 30 year bond of friendship, was published.
