National Swedish television (SVT) broadcast a documentary about Agneta Eckemyr who could have become the first Swedish 'Bond Girl'. Agneta auditioned opposite George Lazenby for the role of Tracy, James Bond's wife in On Her Majesty's Secret Service. (The role eventually went to Diana Rigg.)
At 62, Swedish beauty Agneta Eckemyr’s high living days of fame, wild love and positive cash flow are definitely behind her.
Once a sexy bombshell with a promising movie career, she was even a fashion designer who boasted a celebrity clientele. Today, she has one goal: to hold on to her rent-controlled New York City penthouse no matter what.
The landlord of Agneta’s coveted Central Park apartment wants her out, and the frazzled pack rat can’t even find a copy of her lease, much less a way to make next month’s rent. Surrounded by a cast of fantastically supportive friends, everyone but Agneta can see she must face her fiscal reality, but she digs in and wages a most personal war.
Capturing more than an enormously entertaining (un)real estate saga, filmmaker Johanna St Michaels tenderly examines both the perils of aging and professional failure in a city without mercy for either.
