On 22th January 2014, MGM celebrated 90 years as one of the world's most famous companies with Leo the Lion introducing every adventure. (MGM is part of the Bond World since 1981, after purchasing United Artists, as both sole distributor and co-distributor of the Bond films.)
"Happy 90th to MGM, here's to the next 90! From Sweden, with Love."
MGM kicked off its yearlong anniversary campaign with a specially produced trailer that will be shown in theaters, on MGM’s various channels and home video products, and via social media.

As part of the celebration, the studio has built 4K restorations of titles for Blu-ray including
Rocky, Rain Man and
The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, and the studio’s
Leo the Lion has gotten pawprint treatment at the world-famous Chinese Theater in Hollywood. (see video below)

Although it is MGM’s 90th birthday, most of the highlights are centered on the film library the studio still owns (lots of United Artists movies such as the James Bond and Pink Panther series).
There’s not much on MGM’s Golden Era in the 1930s and ’40s - those rights were acquired by Turner and is now held by Warner Bros.
