James Bond konsert, Louis de Geer, Norrköping
The Swedish Army Band will offer music from the James Bond films at Louis de Geer Concert and Congress in Norrköping on 12th November 2023. Singer is Kristin Amparo with From Sweden with Love reader Emanuel Magnusson as presenter. The concert will be conducted by Eric Solén.

One of the reasons for the film series' immense success is the music that has been created and performed by our planet's largest and most popular artists and composers.

On 12th November 2023, The Swedish Army Band is following up on spring's great success in Stockholm, James Bond in Concert.

This time they visit Norrköping and the Louis de Geer Concert and Congress venue. Like at the Spring concert, Kristin Amparo is doing the singing and will perform gold grains such as “Goldfinger” and “Skyfall”. The new addition is Emanuel Magnusson as presenter and Eric Solén as conductor.

Just as in the spring, well-known goodies, such as “Thunderball” and “Licence to Kill”, are interspersed with unexpected tracks from the series soundtracks. As an example, how often do you get the chance to hear live versions of “Welcome to Cuba” or “African Rundown”?

About The Swedish Army Band:

The Swedish Army Band is a full-sized symphonic orchestra consisting of 53 full-time musicians (FSWL reader Rickard Stråhle is one of the full-time employees). The orchestra is one of the Swedish Armed Forces three professional music choirs and belongs to Livgardet in Stockholm. The Army Music Choir makes both concerts and parades, and has a figurative show program that is an appreciated and spectacular part of their performances.

The main mission for The Swedish Army Band is to provide the Armed Forces, the Swedish Royal Court (the people who work for the Royal House) and the government with music at ceremonies and solemn occasions. In addition, the music choir does concerts and parades that are open to the public.

Every year, the band makes about 200 performances, mainly in Stockholm, but also nationally and internationally. The music choir has played on the Armed Forces' missions in Kosovo and Afghanistan, and participated in Tattooer and music festivals around the world.

The varying assignments conducted by The Swedish Army Band require a great musical breadth and flexibility, both genre and ensemble. The band plays a repertoire that spans four centuries, and can, thanks to its size, occupy and perform everything from the largest works to chamber musical compositions.

Historically, The Swedish Army Band has a long military musical tradition to look at, while developing military music and bring it into the future. This combination of nurturing, carrying, and developing a legacy and tradition is a task that requires knowledge and openness. With curiosity and power, the army band takes responsibility for the inheritance, contemporary and the future.

Editor's note:
In 2023, James Bond celebrates its 70th anniversary since the first James Bond novel, Casino Royale by Ian Fleming, was published on April 13, 1953.

Tickets for the James Bond concert with The Swedish Army Band in Norrköping can be ordered directly from Louis de Geer Concert and Congress.
