Carole Bouquet For Your Eyes Only
The James Bond Movie Encyclopedia presents This Day in James Bond Movie History - wishing French actress Carole Bouquet a very Happy Birthday.

It’s become a bit of a cliché to say that the most beautiful women in the world are featured in the James Bond movies, but it’s so true. And many of them come from France, including Bouquet who starred opposite Roger Moore in his fifth 007 outing, For Your Eyes Only (1981).

In a Bond movie that is much more realistic than its way-out-there predecessor, Moonraker (1979), she portrays the revenge-seeking half-Greek, half-British Melina Havelock, whose parents are murdered in the film’s opening scenes. Carrying a lethal crossbow, she takes out the pilot who machine-gunned her family, stumbling into a much larger plot in which Bond tackles a Soviet plot to steal a British decoding device.

The statuesque Bouquet is a striking presence throughout the film, and like Barbara Bach in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977), a formidable ally to Bond.

So let’s raise a shot of Ouzo to Carole Bouquet on her birthday.
