The casting of all the hockey players required for the film took place in February 2017 in Espoo Metro Areena. Filming commenced in April 2017 and ended in June.
"The first gold in the World championships meant a lot for the Finns so it's a great honor to portray Curre in the film. The role is also completely different from my previous roles," Hulten said in a comment.
Fiction feature 95 is a dramatic story about ice hockey and national pride. It’s a multi-faceted telling of how Finland came to win the Ice Hockey World Championship for the first time, and how it affected Finnish society to its very core.
The film is produced by Olli Haikka, Jarkko Hentula, and Marko Talli of Yellow Film & TV. The screenplay is written by Joona Tena, Tatiana Elf, and Juha Karvanen.
