Our friend Jon Burlingame has informed us that his fourth book, The Music of James Bond, will be published in October 2012 by Oxford University Press in connection with the 50th Anniversary of the 007 movie franchise.

"I accepted the assignment in part because I wanted to pay homage to John Barry and his legacy. I think you'll all be very pleased."

Jon Burlingame writes about music for films and TV for Variety and teaches film-music history at the University of Southern California. He has lectured on music for films and TV in Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C., Miami, and Switzerland.
