The culmination of several years of work, and 60 years in the business, Pictures And Premieres was launched in a blaze of glory at the Odeon Leicester Square London, on September 12th 2007. The first book launch ever at the cinema.

The glorious photographs, so brilliantly reproduced with Harry Myers' anecdotes and recollections lead to a must-have volume for anyone - be it film fans, photograph lovers or the casual reader.

Book description:
For nearly six decades, Harry Myers has been a photographer of Royalty and show business occasions. Since 1946, he has been monitoring the annual Royal Film Performance and was continuously employed by what used to be called "Wardour Street" as the film companies' official photographer at their starry celebrations. He has photographed virtually every major film star and movie mogul who came to London to lead the razzmatazz and ballyhoo as their films enriched the nation's cinema screens. The camera unveils a remarkable pictorial record of a former cinematic age of protocol and elegance and reveals a fascinating glimpse of a Royal family graciously ageing over the decades.

From Fred Astaire to Hollywood pioneer Adolph Zukor, from James Bond and the Beatles to Elizabeth Taylor and John Wayne, Harry and his son Scott, who has now inherited his red carpet mantle, have been on hand to capture actors lionized in Hollywood who were prepared to undertake long sea voyages and air travel to promote their latest cinematic efforts to shake hands with the Queen and other members of the Royal family.

Now with collaborators John Willis and Gareth Owen, Harry has opened his vast archive to produce Pictures and Premieres.

About the authors:
John Willis has had a varied career in the entertainment industry, ranging from press officer for Walt Disney and later unit publicity director on such films as the original Casino Royale, Diamonds Are Forever and The Battle of Britain. He co-founded and was co-director of Complete Media Consultants, which numbered Columbia Pictures among its clients before joining the London bureau of US entertainment newspaper, Variety, where he was general manager and advertising sales director.

Gareth Owen is based at Pinewood Studios and runs Sir Roger Moore's office. He is author of four books: The Pinewood Story; Roger Moore: His Films & Career; Albert J. Luxford: The Gimmick Man; and Alan Hume: A Life Through the Lens.
