A new edition of David Leigh's book The Complete Guide to the Drinks of James Bond is now available. (The first edition was published in Nov 2010.)
UPDATE 18/2/2014: The self-published book will compete against the best in the world after judges of the
2014 World Gourmand Awards announced it the UK winner of the cocktails category.
David, who didn't know his book had been entered for the competition, said: “When I heard it had won at the country level and saw myself on a list that includes Jamie Oliver I felt very honoured and completely shocked!”
About the book:
The Complete Guide to the Drinks of James Bond takes a comprehensive look at the drinks consumed by 007 in both
Ian Fleming's novels and the
Eon movies. In this new expanded edition you'll find details of everything James Bond drinks, whether cocktails, Champagne or even beer, which 007 certainly did drink on occasion in the books and that
Skyfall (2012) is not the first film in which he drinks beer.
Naturally it includes details of the vodka martini, shaken, not stirred, as well as the Vesper, which first appeared in
Casino Royale.
As well as providing background details to some of 007's drinks, including a look at some of the best-known Champagne houses, it includes cocktail recipes so that you can mix drinks in the comfort of your own home to enjoy either by yourself, while you savour a 007 moment, or with family and friends.
