In a PM from Miss Moneypenny's desk in London, Ian Fleming Publications announce that signed copies of Kim Sherwood's new Double O novel A Spy Like Me is now available. Classification: Gold level (For Your Eyes Only)

The message reads as follows...

“To our agents in the field,

Moneypenny’s worst fear is not being on time. It keeps her up at night: that as the head of the Double O Section, she might have before her the cogs, the wheels, the pins, and yet fail to visualise the whole machine. At 1.25 p.m., a bomb will explode at BBC New Broadcasting House. She might not be on time to stop it, just like she didn’t stop the Egyptian Embassy bombing last month, or the shooting at the synagogue in Paris the week before that, or the hack on the International Monetary Fund two months ago.

So starts the first chapter of Kim Sherwood’s new Double O novel A Spy Like Me, which is releasing in the United States on 23 April, and the United Kingdom on 25 April.

If you’d like to get your hands on a copy signed by the author, be quick – Ian Fleming Publications have just listed 100 signed UK hardbacks on their shop for pre-order, but these are strictly limited.

We were pleased to see so many agents taking part in a new charity initiative that celebrates the life of actor George Baker, Agent Sherwood’s own grandfather, known both for his charitable work and his many roles on screen, including of course Sir Hilary Bray in the film of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969).
