Folio Society On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
A new special edition of On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1963), the 11th original James Bond novel written by Ian Fleming, is published by The Folio Society in the UK. Fay Dalton captivating images bring Ian Fleming’s riveting thriller to life in this essential addition to the Folio Society Bond series.

On what would have been Sir Roger Moore's 93rd birthday, The Folio Society publish the tenth volume in their endlessly popular James Bond collection. In this volume, Ian Fleming sweeps the reader into the thin and dangerous atmosphere of the Alps in the 1963's On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (in the 1969 film version, Bond is played by George Lazenby). For the first time, Bond and his enemy Ernst Stavro Blofeld face each other in this second book of the ‘Blofeld trilogy’ - with explosive results.

Artist Fay Dalton continues her brilliant work on the series, bringing us a vision of Bond that captures all the glamour and the grit of Fleming’s world with seven full-page colour illustrations. Tracy, the woman who wins Bond’s heart by recklessly outdriving him, sizzles on the page, while the sinister Blofeld oozes menace. The elegantly understated binding design nods to both the location of Bond’s latest adventure, and the agent’s love of smart suits.

Bond has been chasing rumours of his nemesis all over Europe, when information from an unexpected source exposes his prey at last; Blofeld has alighted in the icy peaks of the Alps. Inside Blofeld’s exclusive ski resort and research station, Bond finds a number of beautiful young British girls, all hoping to have their allergies cured by a series of unorthodox treatments. Can it be true that Blofeld has dedicated his life to benign scientific pursuits? Bond thinks not, but it will take every inch of his cunning and skill to find out. After all, there are many ways to die at 10,000 feet.
