Fleming made two trips. His first took place because he was writing a series of articles about the world’s most thrilling cities. A few years later he returned to research Japan’s places and culture for his Bond novel.
You Only Live Twice (1964), which for many of its pages is a diary of Bond’s travels from Tokyo to Kyushu.
When this was
turned into a film, Connery and the film crew arrived in Japan to shoot on location.
This book is the story of those trips.
