Vollgas oder nix: Meine wilden 60er mit Jochen Rindt, James Bond und Steve McQueen is a new 288-page book written in German by FSWL reader Erich Glavitza, one of the stock car drivers in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). The book was published on 16th November 2018 by McKlein Publishing.
The motorsport of the 1960s was a wild and crazy era. Austrian
Erich Glavitza was part of it as a journalist, amateur driver, car driver and consultant on the 1969 James Bond film starring
George Lazenby as Ian Fleming's 007. Erich also worked as a stuntmen on the 1971 film
Le Mans starring
Steve McQueen and appeared in Ford Motor Company's short documentary
Shot on Ice about the making of the stock car race in OHMSS.
In
Vollgas oder nix: Meine wilden 60er mit Jochen Rindt, James Bond und Steve McQueen, Glavitza tells the stories that others do not dare to tell. For example, how he and
Jochen Rindt had a life threatening close call when playing around with a Ford Mustang. A very humoristic book about a crazy and unforgotten era.

Trivia:
In 2008, FSWL founder
Anders Frejdh helped
The Ian Fleming Foundation to aquire the
Mercury Cougar XR7 car (previously owned by a car collector in Sweden) driven by both
Diana Rigg and
George Lazenby in
On Her Majesty's Secret Service. That car is currently on display at the official 007 exhibit
Bond In Motion in London.
