Exclusive report from a private 50th anniversary screening of Live and Let Die (1973) starring Sir Roger Moore in London with cast & crew members in attendance as special guests.

On Wednesday 27th June 2023, exactly 50 years after the World premiere (held at London's ODEON Leicester Square cinema) of Live and Let Die starring Roger Moore in his first film as Ian Fleming's James Bond, FSWL reader Simon Kidston of Kidston Motorcars hosted a private screening of the film at Curzon Cinema in Mayfair to which Anders Frejdh Talent Management AB was requested to invite as many as possible of the locals that worked on the film.

Legendary James Bond director John Glen, Octopussy girl Kathy Davies (flew in especially for the screening), former Miss World Eva Rueber-Staier (The Spy Who Loved Me, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy), and Wendy Leech (daughter of stuntman George Leech and wife of Vic).

“How did it feel to be the first Bond girl of the Roger Moore era?” Simon asked actress Madeline Smith (who played Italian agent Miss Caruso for Roger’s first 007 love scene). “Not what I expected” was the answer, “as his wife was standing at the bottom of the bed!”

Geoffrey Moore, Roger's oldest son, was unable to attend the screening but sent a wonderful video message.

Vic Armstrong was in great form talking with the guests.
