A celebration of the absolutely fabulous and lovely Mary Stavin, two-time Swedish Bond girl (both times opposite Roger Moore as Ian Fleming's 007) and Miss World, on her birthday. Besides Maud Adams, Mary is the only Swedish actress to have appeared in two different Bond films.

About Mary Stavin

Mary Ann-Catrin Stävin, Miss Sweden and Miss World (1977), was born in Örebro, Sweden and carved out a successful career modelling. At one point she replaced Farrah Fawcett as the face of Fabergé, and in 1979 appeared in the video for Adam Ant's 'Strip'.

She returned to judge the Miss World contest in 1980 and 2010.

She was cast as one of Octopussy's girls in Octopussy (1983) and enjoyed more screen time than any of the others. Producer Albert R. Broccoli spotted her potential as an actress and offered to send her to drama school. Mary enthusiastically took up the offer, and was subsequently offered a role in the next Bond film, A View to a Kill (1985), as Kimberley Jones in the exciting pre-title sequence.

Subsequent credits include House (1986), Caddyshack II (1988), Howling V: The Rebirth (1989) and The Devil Takes A Holiday (1996).

In 1990 she starred in two episodes of the cult tv show Twin Peaks. In the 1990's Mary also appeared in the Swedish television series Vänner och Fiender, one of the longest running series ever in Sweden. (Another Swedish Bond girl, Kristina Wayborn, also appeared in the series.)

In addition to acting, Mary released the exercise album Shape Up and Dance with George Best in 1984.

Mary Stavin resides since many years in Beverly Hills, California with her husband Nick Wilcockson.
