If you thought the first full-faced visual representation of Blofeld was British actor Donald Pleasance, you’d be incorrect. No, not him? Hm, of course, the first screen visualisation of Blofeld was Jan Werich, the Santa Claus-looking Czech actor discovered by producer Harry Saltzman, originally cast for You Only Live Twice and later replaced by Pleasance – wasn’t he? No?! Blofeld was first visualised for the film by veteran British prop man, Tony Teiger.
