James Bond in Dr No (1962), From Russia with Love (1963), Goldfinger (1964), Thunderball (1965), You Only Live Twice (1967), Diamonds Are Forever (1971) and Never Say Never Again (1983).
How do one best describe the feeling of seeing a living movie legend, a genuine star, a passionate golfer, charity worker, and ultimately the first and greatest actor to play the role of James Bond?
For me, it was surely a phenomenal pleasure and an absolute delight to see
Sir Sean Connery for the first time in my life. Especially, as it was on his home turf in the Fountainbridge area of the city Edinburgh.
It all came true as I was fortunate to attend an interview with artistic director Shane Danielson during the 60th edition of the
Edinburgh International Film Festival on August 25th 2006. This was prior to Sean receiving his first Scottish BAFTA award for an outstanding achievement in film during the last 50 years.
Not only was it special for Sir Sean to receive that but it was also Big Tam's 76th birthday so there was really nothing more to ask for except sit back and enjoy the show. And what a performance it certainly was from the actor who forever will be connected with James Bond.
We encourage everyone to visit
Sean Connery's official website to read more about him, his successful film career and his wife Micheline's art, style and inspirational work.
