I had the genuine privilege of meeting the very Michael Billington at two occasions before his tragic death in June 2005, once in Birmingham and once during An afternoon with Richard Kiel at Pinewood Studios.

He always told me how proud he was as a father towards his very talented 15-year old football player who was playing for AC Milan in Italy.

Mr Billington stopped making films some years before his death but never forgot his fans as he ran a website in order to communicate with them.

I stayed in contact with him through e-mails over the years which I’m very grateful for in retrospect. I mean, Mr Billington could have played 007 as he tested for the role more than anyone has ever done.

As some may know, he were also the boyfriend to the current Bond producer, Barbara Broccoli, for some years and his connection to the Bond phenomenon will always be remembered among fans I think.

Thank you Michael, I will never forget you.
