The 'elephant boy’ in THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN 1974
Our man in America, Steve Oxenrider, met up with Sayan Jantanarat in December 2010. Although Steve had to communicate with Sayan through an interpreter, Sayan was a very humble, pleasant person and delighted to share his memories of making
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974). He was spotted by a member of the film crew at a shopping mall on a day he decided to skip school. To convince his parents to allow him to do the movie, the crew bought Sayan a new set of clothing.
Sayan Jantanarat was 10 years old when he played the urchin ‘elephant boy’ that attempts to help James Bond escape by boat in the klong canal chase.
He appeared in a few other Thai films as well.
