Pinder in THUNDERBALL 1965
The first time I met Earl Cameron was in Birmingham and I quickly realized he is, and probably have been, a very kind man throughout his whole life.
Earl brought his wife Barbara as well and told me about them meeting each other in Barbados (where Cameron originally comes from) although his wife has lived there longer than him, even though she's originally from England.
Earl is a very friendly man to meet and speak to and also very kind. He is still active in the film business and recently appeared in
The Interpreter with Nicole Kidman and then
The Queen with Dame Helen Mirren in the starring role.
He clearly remembers his Bond scenes in
Thunderball (1965) that was filmed in the Bahamas with
Sean Connery even if it was over 40 years ago.
Among non-Bond things he told me were that he once visited Sweden and Stockholm back in the 1970s.
Thanks Earl, a pleasure meeting you again in London during a weekend in September 2006, you and Barbara are two of the most wonderful people I have ever met!
Over the years, we have kept in touch and in August 2012 I interviewed Earl for the website, read my
interview with Earl Cameron.
