Ski/parachute base jump in THE SPY WHO LOVED ME (1977) and climber in FOR YOUR EYES ONLY (1981)

I was very happy to finally meet the incredibly brave and equally fantastic Rick Sylvester after a few years of correspondence over email and phone.

Rick is a great guy and wonderful storyteller. His scene in The Spy Who Loved Me (1977) speaks for itself and still ranks as one of the best and most unforgettable stunts of all time. Equally impressive is the climbing sequence (again doubling for Roger Moore as James Bond) he did in Greece for For Your Eyes Only (1981) .

Rick's canary yellow ski suit from TSWLM is currently displayed on the touring Designing 007 exhibit which is bound for Moscow in June.

(An exclusive interview with Rick about his work on the Bond films will be published on FSWL in due time.)

About Rick Sylvester:
After his graduation from University of California in 1965, Rick Sylvester lived in Sweden for one academic year (he wrestled for Spårvägens GoIF where he was coached by Malte Möller and won the Swedish championship in freestyle 1966) and speaks a bit of Swedish. In 1986, he completed the famed Vasaloppet, a 90 kilometer ski race from Sälen to Mora in the middle of Sweden.
