A celebration of the absolutely fabulous Carole Ashby, "James Bond girl" in both Octopussy (1983) (1983) and A View to a Kill (1985), on her birthday.

With this page, From Sweden with Love would like to celebrate Carole Ashby and thank her again for gracing our James Bond festival in Stockholm on 19-21 September 2014. (The first time Carole visited Stockholm.)

About Carole Ashby:
Carole Ashby was born in Cannock, Staffordshire, England in 1955. In the late 1970s, she began to work as photographic model.

Carole's first film role was in the 1981 Oscar® winning film Chariots of Fire directed by Hugh Hudson. She was then cast in Octopussy as one of the brave and gymnastic circus girls in the film. She was so liked by cast and crew that they invited her back for Roger Moore's 7th and last Bond film, A View To A Kill, in which she played the enchanting 'Whistling Girl' in the Eiffel Tower restaurant sequence.

Besides being a Bond girl in two 007 films (much like Swedish Bond girls Maud Adams and Mary Stavin) she is famous for having a recurring role in the hilarious Allo 'Allo! TV series between 1988 and 1992.

Other TV credits include popular series such as Bergerac (1985), Minder (1989) with Michael Kitchen who portrayed Bill Tanner in two of Pierce Brosnan's Bond films (GoldenEye and The World Is Not Enough), Life Without George (1989), Inspector Morse (1991) and Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman (1997) with Jane Seymour who co-starred with Roger Moore in Live and Let Die.

Carole currently lives in London where she works as interior designer.
