Monica Bellucci confirmed for role as Lucia Sciarra in SPECTRE

During the press call at Pinewood Studios on 4th December 2014 it was revealed that actress Monica Bellucci continues the Italian legacy of providing girls for James Bond as she is set to appear in SPECTRE (2015) alongside Daniel Craig. In the film, Bellucci is accompanied by new French Bond girl Léa Seydoux.

Previous Italian Bond girls include Caterina Murino as "Solange" in Casino Royale (2006), Daniela Bianchi as "Tatiana Romanova" in From Russia with Love (1963), Luciana Paluzzi as "Fiona Volpe" in Thunderball (1965), Lucrezia Lante della Rovere as "Gemma" in Quantum of Solace (2008) and Maria Grazia Cucinotta as "Cigar Girl" in The World Is Not Enough (1999).

Other Italian actors in the Bond film series include Adolfo Celi (Thunderball), Claudio Santamaria (Casino Royale 2006), Gabriele Ferzetti (On Her Majesty's Secret Service), Giancarlo Giannini (Casino Royale 2006, Quantum of Solace) and Urbano Barberini (Casino Royale 2006).

It was also announced that the new Bond film will be shot on location in Austria (Lake Altausee, Obertilliach and Sölden), England (Pinewood Studios), Italy (Rome), London, Morocco, Mexico City and Tangier. Filming begins on 8th December 2014.
